Max Winter (UK)

"experimental contemporary classical pop compositions"

Bio provide by artist:
Max Winter’s music seeks to traverse a breadth of styles – a world where freewheeling jazzwise drum workouts linger behind silk bass and glooming electronics, where compositional flurries of flute, cello, keys, and violin playfully exchange with restrained melodic ambience, where crystalline vocal melodies float above terminator slap bass sessions… it’s literally all going on…and all at the same time. During his time studying composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Max composed for various ensembles. Most notably, the Trinity Laban String Ensemble in which Max was commissioned to write a piece for. ‘Beautiful Retreat’ was premiered at Blackheath Halls in October 2019. After graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Max was involved in a range of projects that stretched his compositional abilities from producing for the likes of Lauren Auder and Gaika, to performing live with Nourished By Time. 2023 saw Max turn his attentions to releasing music under his own name with the release of his debut single on ‘untitled (recs)’ . A single on the ‘Scenic Route’ compilation followed in 2024. Max contributed some sound design work for Alvaro Barrington’s exhibition at the Tate. Max’s debut EP is set to follow this year.
