Rampressure (UK)

"broodingly intense noise"

For fans of: The Melvins / The Black Lips

Rampressure
is an experimental noise rock project formed during the 2021 lockdown in Staines by Paul and his two sons, Elvin and Sonny. What started as a way to pass time in isolation quickly evolved into something far more compelling.
Starting out in a shed at the bottom of the garden, the trio built their sound around breakbeat-driven jams, looping and layering weird slicing guitar tones with visceral noisy vocals fromSonny. Drawing influence from bands like Osees, Gilla Band, Black Midi and Metz, they recorded every live jam they played, cutting the jam down to a reasonable length and releasing these early sessions as singles for people to stream.
As Covid restrictions were lifted, Paul invited longtime friend Leon to join on drums, pulling the sound and textures of the band’s already forward sound and pushing the project into new territory. With a clear intention to avoid home town shows due to the lack of a music scene in Staines, Rampressure set their sights on London’s grassroots scene, getting their shot to play at The George Tavern.
Their debut show at The George Tavern immediately made an impact, earning a strong crowd response and catching the attention of London promoters. A chance of recommendation led to their first shows at The Windmill Brixton and many other venues that opened the door to regular performances across the capital’s underground circuit.
Since then, Rampressure have built a reputation for intense live sets, with slashing guitars, heavy bass and crazy vocals which has helped them grow a loyal following, with crowds that match their energy head-on. They’ve played extensively across South East London’s music scene, swiftly carving out their place in the community.
Recent highlights include a sold-out headline show at The Windmill Brixton with Fossick and House Arrest, as well as sharing stages with acts such as Test plan, Mould and Sly & The Family Drone.
With upcoming appearances including a Great Escape Brighton on the Beach show and SXSE (curated by Dash The Henge), Rampressure continue to push forward encapsulating crowds in what can only be described as ‘wall of noise’
