Ja, we weten het, officieel begint Left of the Dial 2026 al op woensdag, maar we hadden ooit beloofd om op donderdag iets te doen, dus dat doen we. Alleen wel een beetje anders dan voorgaande jaren. Lees er hier (in het Engels) meer over.

Absoluut geen ervaring nodig, de legendarische Laresidancers zullen je wat line dance-passen leren waar je nog jaren indruk op de dansvloer mee kunt maken. De eerste 50 dansers krijgen ook nog eens een gratis cowboyhoed!

Show-and-tell – workshop voor alle niveaus, ervaring met muziekproductie is niet nodig.

Tijdens deze praktische show-and-tell laat Alberta Balsam (Pulsar Sound Lab) zien hoe je tracks uit je studio daadwerkelijk naar het podium brengt. Aan de hand van Ableton Live en een hybride setup met controllers, hardware en externe effecten bespreekt ze verschillende technieken om je elektronische muziek live uit te voeren.

Of je nu een paar elektronische elementen aan je huidige liveshow wilt toevoegen, interessante manieren wilt ontdekken om instrumenten te bewerken, of wilt leren hoe je complexe studioproducties vertaalt naar een volledige liveperformance: in deze workshop komt het allemaal aan bod. Leer een aantal essentiële workflows, of neem gewoon een kijkje achter de schermen en ontdek hoe je vanaf de basis een hybride set met hardware en software opbouwt.

 Bij de ingang van Rotown vind je een heuse Left of the Dial photobooth. Fix je haar, glimlach vrolijk en neem de ​​fotostrip mee naar huis met het Left of the Dial-logo erop. Of ga voor de boemerang-optie die we na het festival online delen…

In de Secret Shotjes Bar kun je goedkope shotjes drinken en om wat tegenwicht te bieden aan alle nieuwe muziek die je overal hoort, worden er alleen overbekende hits gedraaid. Alleen is er één addertje onder het gras: de locatie van de bar is geheim. Secret dus. Maar omdat wij de Taylor Swift onder de festivals zijn, komt de oplettende bezoeker wel kleine aanwijzingen tegen om de bar te vinden… Goed opletten dus, meer kunnen we er niet over zeggen!

Met een Left of the Dial-polsbandje heb je toegang tot alle zalen op donderdag (vanaf 19.00 uur) en op vrijdag en zaterdag vanaf 16.00 uur. Voor sommige Extra Extra’s heb je een extra ticket nodig, voornamelijk vanwege de beperkte capaciteit.
Sommige van die tickets zijn gratis, voor andere extra’s moet je bijbetalen. Alle add-ons zijn alléén voor de Left of the Dial-kaarthouders, dus ja, je moet steeds je extra ticket én je Left of the Dial-polsbandje laten zien…

Op twee centrale locaties vind je de Left of the Dial-eetzalen waar alle artiesten eten. En jij kunt aanschuiven!

Hoe werkt het:
Je gaat naar de add-on-pagina en bestelt een Dine Like A Star-ticket voor één of meerdere avonden;
– Op de Dine Like a Star-pagina vind je de exacte locaties en het menu per dag;
– Ga op de door jou gekozen dag naar een van de twee eetzalen (maakt niet uit welke);
– Laat je ticket zien je kunt een maaltijd en een drankje uitkiezen;
– Ga ergens zitten, eet smakelijk en daarna weer snel terug naar de optredens!

Bands on a Boat is een boottochtje van één uur terwijl er twee Left of the Dial-bands aan boord spelen. Supergezellig en je drankjes zitten ook nog eens bij je ticket inbegrepen!

Hoe werkt het:
– Ga naar de add-on-pagina en bestel een Bands on a Boat-ticket voor een tocht naar voorkeur;
– Op de Bands on a Boat-pagina vind je de exacte opstaplocatie, de line-up en meer;
– Zorg dat je minimaal 15 minuten voor vertrek aanwezig bent, laat je polsbandje zien en je Bands on a Boat-ticket wordt gescand;
– Zodra de boot vertrekt kun je genieten van het uitzicht, de muziek en de gratis drankjes!

Bands on a Bus is precies wat de naam al doet vermoeden: een band die een korte set spelt in een rijdende bus. Als je tegen een beetje chaos kunt, ga je dit prachtig vinden.

Hoe het werkt:
– Je gaat naar de add-on-pagina en bestelt een Bands on a Bus-ticket voor een tocht naar voorkeur;
– Op de Bands on a Bus-pagina vind je de locatie van de bushalte, de line-up en meer;
– Zorg dat je minimaal 10 minuten voor vertrek aanwezig bent, laat je polsbandje zien en je Bands on a Bus-ticket wordt gescand;
– Zet je schrap en veel plezier!

Creëer je eigen Left of the Dial-cocktail terwijl er een band aan het spelen is!
Zorg dat je een ticket voor de DIY Cocktail Party te pakken krijgt, maak het mooiste drankje en wellicht win je een T-shirt. Er zijn zowel alcoholische als non-alcoholische drankjes, dus je kunt de cocktail helemaal naar eigen smaak samenstellen, als ‘ie er maar mooi uitziet….

Arminius / Vrijdag 23 oktober – 14.00 – 15.00 uur

Hoe het werkt:
– Je gaat naar de add-on-pagina en bestelt een Cocktail-ticket;
– Op de Cocktail Party-pagina vind je alle overige informatie dus lees die goed door;
– Zorg dat je op tijd bent en een goed humeur hebt;
– Shake die cocktails maar!

De Left of the Dial Wednesday is een extra festival-avond die geheel in het teken staat van Rotterdamse artiesten.

Nog niet alle zalen zijn open en de capaciteit is beperkt. Daarom heb je een extra ticket nodig. Je kunt op woensdag dus alleen aanwezig zijn als je een woensdag-ticket hebt én een Left of the Dial 2026-polsbandje.

De Pro Mixer is bedoeld voor muziekprofessionals die met hun collega’s willen bijpraten voor het festival losbarst. De Pro Mixer vindt plaats op donderdag 22 oktober van 16.00 tot 17.30 uur en een ticket is inclusief drank tijdens de borrel en een eetbon voor Dine Like a Star.

Alle afterparty’s zijn gratis toegankelijk voor mensen met een Left of the Dial-polsbandje, maar of je binnenkomt hangt wel af van de drukte. Als een zaal nog niet vol is, kunnen ook mensen zonder polsbandje een ticket aan de deur kopen. Alle afterparty’s hebben een minimum leeftijd van 18 jaar.

In Rotown kun je op donderdag dansen op de favoriete plaatjes van medefestivalbezoekers! Uit de aanmeldingen is een selectie gemaakt en die dj’s hebben een tijdslot toebedeeld gekregen om iedereen te laten horen wat echte muziek is!

Zo scoor je een gratis shot in 3 simpele stappen:
– Naast de dj-booth vind je een bak met stickers — of beter gezegd: naamstickers. Meestal van bekende artiesten. Kies er één uit (maar echt: slechts één!).
– Ga de dansvloer op en laat je beste moves zien, in de hoop dat de DJ een nummer van ‘jouw’ artiest draait.
– Hoor je een nummer van jouw naamsticker? Sprint naar de DJ-booth, wijs je sticker aan… en het shotje is van jou!

Heel belangrijk:
– Een naamsticker is géén verzoekje. Sterker nog: de DJ neemt helemaal geen verzoekjes aan. Dus probeer het niet eens.
– Ga niet naar de bar met je naamsticker. De gratis shotjes zijn echt, maar dan ook echt alleen verkrijgbaar bij de DJ-booth.
– Nogmaals: ga niet bij de bar vragen om een gratis shotje. Daar worden onze verder zéér vriendelijke barmedewerkers echt chagrijnig van.

Na de laatste bands is de avond bij Rotown nog lang niet voorbij. Op zaterdag gaat het programma verder met een afterparty in echte Rotown Nights-stijl, met een dansvloer vol indie, alternative, pop, electro en alles wat daar ergens tussenin past. Nog één laatste kans om het Left of the Dial-weekend nét wat langer te rekken!

(ALTERNATIVE) DRAG-GERICHT DANSFEEST, CAMP, SEXY, QUEER, CARTOONACHTIG, MAIN CHARACTER-OUTFITS AANGEMOEDIGD

Hierbij ben je uitgenodigd voor UNDERGROUND DRAG! Een feest voor, door en met de Rotterdamse queer community, met live optredens van lokale drag kings en burlesque babes, plus hete, campy DJ-sets om lekker op los te gaan. Iedereen wordt aangemoedigd om te komen in de outfit waarin diegene zich op z’n best en het heetst voelt. Of dat nu een minirok is, een uitgebreide fashion look of een fursuit. Bij Underground Drag kleden we ons vooral voor de lol!

Of je nu een polsbandje hebt, of niet, je kunt tijdens Left of the Dial op vrijdag en zaterdag tussen 12.00 en 16.00 uur tientallen gratis concerten bezoeken. Officieel is dit gratis festival geen onderdeel van Left of the Dial, maar we steunen onze onofficiële vrienden volledig en we raden iedereen aan om bij een van hun concerten te gaan kijken! Show and Tell - workshop for all levels, no music production experience required.

Join Alberta Balsam (Pulsar Sound Lab) for a practical show-and-tell session on how to actually take your studio tracks and play them live. Using Ableton Live alongside a hybrid setup of controllers, hardware, and external FX, she’ll break down different techniques for getting your electronic music onto the stage.

Whether you just want to add a few electronic elements to your current liveshow, learn interesting processing techniques for isntruments or figure out how to translate complex studio productions into a full live performance, this session has you covered. Come pick up some essential workflows, or just get a behind-the-scenes look at how a hybrid hardware and software set is built from the ground up.

At the entrance of Rotown you’ll find the Left of the Dial photobooth. Fix your hair, smile and take your photo strip home with the Left of the Dial logo. Or go for the boomerang option which we’ll share online after the festival!

The Secret Shotjes Bar is a place where you drink cheap shots and to provide some contrast to all the new music you’ll hear everywhere, only overly well-known songs are played. 'Shotje' is Dutch for a shot of alcohol, and we assume that you more or less know what ‘secret’ entails. In this case it means that we can’t disclose the location of the bar. But since we’re the Taylor Swift of festivals, there will be some clues... Just keep your eyes peeled, is all we can say!

A Left of the Dial wristband gives you access to all venues on Thursday (from 19.00h) and on Friday and Saturday (from 16.00h). For some of the Extra Extras an additional ticket is required, mainly due to capacity. Some additional tickets are free, some come with an extra charge. All add-ons are exclusively for Left of the Dial ticketholders, so yes, you will be also asked to show your official Left of the Dial wristband... 

Right in the centre of all festival activities, Rotown’s vegan restaurant opens two extra dining rooms where we serve the Left of the Dial artists their dinner. And you’re very welcome to join them!

How it works:
First you go to the add-on page and purchase a Dine Like a Star ticket for one or more nights;
On the Dine Like a Star page you’ll find the exact location of the dining rooms and the daily menus;
- Go to your preferred dining room and show your ticket;
- You will receive the meal of your choice plus a drink;
- Grab a seat, enjoy your dinner and then it’s back to the music!

Bands on a Boat is an one-hour boat trip with two Left of the Dial bands playing on board. Super fun and drinks are included!

When:
Saturday 24 October - check tyour ticket for departure times

How it works:
First you go to the add-on page and purchase a Bands on a Boat ticket for your preferred trip;
- On the Bands on a Boat page you’ll find the exact location of the ship, the lineup and all other info you might need;
- Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before departure time, show your wristband and have your Bands on a Boat ticket scanned;
- Once we set sail, relax and enjoy the music and free drinks!

Bands on a Bus is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a band playing a short set on a driving bus. If you don’t mind a bit of chaos, you’ll love it.

When:
Friday 23 October - check your ticket for departure time

- First you go to the add-on page and purchase a Bands on a Bus ticket for your preferred bus tour;
- On the Bands on a Bus page you’ll find the exact location of the bus stop and the lineup;
- Make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before departure time, show your wristband and have your Bands on a Bus ticket scanned;
- Hold on tight and enjoy the experience!

Make your own Left of the Dial cocktail while enjoying a band on stage!

Get a ticket for the DIY Cocktail Party, create the best-looking drink and you might win a T-shirt. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, so you can create a cocktail to your own taste, just make sure it looks pretty…

- Show up to our Cocktail Party on time and in the best of moods;

The Left of the Dial Wednesday is an extra festival night to celebrate Rotterdam artists.

Only a few venues will be open en therefor capacity will be limited. You can only access these venues with a Wednesday ticket in combination with a valid Left of the Dial 2026 wristband.

The Pro Mixer is specifically intended for music professionals who want to catch up with colleagues before the start of the shows. The Pro Mixer takes place on the Left of the Dial Thursday from 16:00-17:30 and a ticket includes drinks at the mixer as well as a dinner voucher for Dine Like a Star.

All after parties are free for Left of the Dial wristband holders, subject to each venue’s capacity. If the venue is not at capacity, people without a wristband may purchase a ticket at the door. All after parties have an age limit of 18.

At Rotown, there will be a DIY DJ Party on Thursday, where selected punters spin their favourite dance tracks. Everyone who signed up in advance has been assigned a specific time slot to step behind the decks and show their fellow festivalgoers what real music is!

Earn a free shot in 3 easy steps:
1) Next to the DJ booth you’ll find a collection of stickers. Or rather: name tags. Mostly of famous artists. Pick one (only one!) name tag.
2) Get on the floor ands show your best moves while hoping the DJ will play a song of the artist on your name tag.
3) One of ‘your songs’ comes on? Report to the DJ booth immediately and point to your name tag…. A free shot is yours!!

Very important:
- Really, don’t go to the bar asking for a free shot, it will annoy the hell out of our otherwise very friendly bar staff.
- A name tag is not a request!! In fact, to keep things fair the DJ won’t accept any requests at all, so don’t even try…
- Don’t go to the bar to show your name tag, the free shots are really REALLY only available at the DJ booth.

You are hereby invited to UNDERGROUND DRAG! A party for/by/with the Rotterdam queer community, with live performances by local Drag kings and Burlesque babes and hot campy DJ sets to shake ass to. We encourage each and everyone to come in the outfit that makes them feel their best hottest self. Whether that be a miniskirt, an eloborate fashion moment or a fursuit. We're dressing for fun at Underground drag!

It doesn’t matter whether you have a wristband or not, during Left of the Dial you can see dozens of free shows on Friday and Saturday between noon and 16.00h. Officially this free daytime festival is not part of Left of the Dial, however we fully support our unofficial friends and we highly recommend checking out their events!
