Take a step back

Maha Eljak

Maha Eljak is a multidisciplinary artist of Sudanese heritage. Inspired by the raw energy of ’70s punk, she uses performance as a tool for resistance and self-expression. In her music and live shows, she confronts systemic issues and shares personal stories that resonate with themes of social change and urgency.

Through her self-published DIY zine Mahazine — a visual and conceptual explosion of collages, interviews, poetry, and photography — she offers a platform for underrepresented voices and challenges dominant narratives.

In addition to her work as an artist and creator, Maha is also a powerful performer and presenter, using her appearances and conversations to create space for dialogue and change. Whether on stage or leading a discussion, Maha brings fearless energy and a deeply rooted drive to disrupt the status quo.
