Take a step back

Hank (UK)

"blending raw noise with tender moments"

Bio provided by artist:
Hank are a London band channelling the city’s contradictions – chaos, beauty, intimacy and alienation. Known for their unpredictable live shows, built around a rotating cast of collaborators, they’ve built a following across the city’s DIY and festival circuits, and have supported the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Sorry, DEADLETTER, Been Stellar, and more.

Their debut EP Twist Grip released in September on Dalliance Recordings, was produced by Jamie Neville and features guest appearances from Asha Lorenz (Sorry) and Ben Romans-Hopcraft (Warmduscher).

Backed by praise from Clash, So Young Magazine, and BBC6Music and Introducing, Hank’s sound has drawn comparisons to the noise-soaked euphoria of My Bloody Valentine and the restless dynamism of Beck. Meanwhile, tastemakers at Slow Dance included their early demo “3/4” on their annual compilation of new talent, citing their ability to balance experimentation with accessibility.

Hank’s live shows, have become essential viewing, marked by their ability to connect deeply with their audience while still keeping them guessing. With a new EP on the way and a coheadline UK tour with NYC’s Catcher in June, Hank is carving out a space that’s entirely their own – equal parts confessional and confrontational, and always compelling.
