GWEN is the solo project of Welsh artist, songwriter and producer Gwenllian Anthony. As co-founder and creative force behind the acclaimed band Adwaith, she helped bring music sung in Cymraeg to international audiences, touring across the UK, Europe and North America as part of the only band to win the Welsh Music Prize twice.
As GWEN, she steps into a world entirely her own, blending industrial textures, minimalist electronics and hypnotic rhythms with emotionally direct songwriting. Inspired by the fearless experimentation of Kim Gordon and Björk, and the rhythmic freedom of Lizzy Mercier Descloux and CAN, her music moves between tension and release, vulnerability and intensity, creating something raw, expansive and deeply immersive.
Writing, producing and performing entirely in Cymraeg, GWEN embraces the language as her instinctive creative voice, placing it at the heart of music that connects with audiences across cultures and borders.
The arrival of GWEN has already begun to resonate far beyond Wales.
