Gob Psychic (DK)

"sneery vocals and catchy riffs"

Bio provided by artist:
Leaning on the punk and garage side of rock music, Gob Psychic has been thrilling audiences across Europe since emerging from the rat trap towns of rural Denmark sometime around 2020. Their music is abrasive and aggressive songs about alienation, vulnerability and the individuals left behind by a society obsessively focused on performance and profit. Hand-in-hand with the abrasive and aggressive sound though are catchy riffs and hooks and a trademark vocal sneer resulting in an overall soundscape much like some sort of comfortable punch to the gut.

After touring the European underground for a few years, the band caught the attention of various underground labels and 2023 saw their self-titled debut EP released on French labels Beast Records and Le Cépe Records, while 2024 saw Gob Psychic release their ‘Rent payer’ 7’ on American powerhouse label Slovenly Recordings. Both releases earned the band airplay on independent New York radio station WFMU and English blog Louder Than War, while also earning the band comparisons to contemporary cult acts such as Ausmuteants, Alien Nosejob and Eddy Current Suppression Ring.

Having spent the summer of 2024 playing various European festivals, among them two sets at Binic Folks- & Blues Festival, the band is currently finishing their debut full-length album, working-titled Women on Drugs, with the first singles slated for release in autumn 2025.

The band will embark on another European tour this autumn. Make sure to book this weird-ish, garagepunk band while you can.
