Van Houten have shared new single ‘I Only Wanna Be With You’, the third and final single from their muchanticipated debut album ‘The Tallest Room’, which is set for release on March 22nd 2024 via Clue Records / EMI North.
The final preview of their debut, ‘I Only Wanna Be With You’ is short and sugar-sweet, proving itself in just under two minutes. Crafted with intention, this track captures the fleeting nature of an intense relationship – here one moment, and the gone the next as Louis Sadler recites “Wouldn’t have it any other way, cos if it’s win or lose – i just wanna be with you, i only wanna be with you..“
Having enlisted the ears and ideas of producer Alex Greaves (bdrmm, Working Men’s Club, Bloc Party), the album is a captivating melting pot of eclectic influences, conflicting emotions and earworm hooks that celebrates the journey the band have been on and looks forward to the future with optimism, whatever it may hold.
Going on to speak about ‘The Tallest Room’, Sadler pens, “Over the past couple of years while we’ve been writing I’ve gone through some massive changes that have really sculpted my outlook and it’s naturally bled into our music… It’s about gaining perspective, moving forwards and while it acknowledges darker experiences & feelings, it’s ultimately about moving on.“
