Tendertwin sadly had to cancel their show on Saturday and won’t be playing at all.
Bio provided by artist:
Nurtured transatlantic, Tendertwin is a forager for half-lived stories. Born in Istanbul, Bilge Nur Yilmaz’s music soaks up Turkey’s rich musical heritage from the lapping tides of the Black Sea and Mediterranean, and filters it through drifting time spent in Philadelphia, Oxford, and London. The result becomes a familiar folk sound where landscapes are entangled in ambient sounds, wrong-footing melodies and unpredictable arrangements carrying subtle illusions of Regina Spektor, Bat For Lashes and Weyes Blood. Currently a resident artist at London Roundhouse, Tendertwin’s former singles Asking, The Runners, Plastik, Absolute Nobody and Triangles, put her on the radar of international press (i.e. La Blogothèque, WXPN, Secret Meeting, Soho Radio, UPROXX, For the Rabbits, Tsugi Radio, Clash Magazine). Her latest involvements include frequent live dates including The Great Escape 2024 and 2023, “Lunch With…” Sessions at 5dB Studios, London, Roundhouse Rising Festival; a Take Away
Show and a Stay Away Show session with La Blogothèque; supporting singer-songwriter Kalben on her tour dates abroad in August 2023, a sold-out triple-bill at St. Pancras Old Church; Palamut Ck. Sk. 46, a track contributed to Mandatory Book Club Vol. 1 (a compilation of phone demos imagined by David Allred) featuring Diane Cluck, Peter Broderick, Brigid Mae Power, and more; and multiple radio features on BBC Introducing and BBC Scotland in anticipation of the release of her EP named Ship Argo in 2024, recorded in the South London studios with Yuri Shibuichi of Honeyglaze with contributions from Oscar Browne, Michael Crean, Tapir!’s Em Hubbard, and many more. (Always Moving, the intro track to Ship Argo was commissioned for Short Cuts, and premiered on BBC Radio 4 on October 24 ahead of its 2024 release on the episode around the theme of “Soil.”) Having freshly released her EP ‘Ship Argo’, Tendertwin is currently touring across the UK. This will be followed by a European tour in autumn 2024.
