Founded in Rennes in 2017, instrumental bass-drums two-piece ALBER JUPITER draw inspiration from Berlin’s 70s krautrock scene and Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s hallucinatory post-rock to craft a unique soundscape. Their motorik rhythm wanders between plaintive delays and intergalactic reverbs. Magic happens immediately!
ALBER JUPITER released a stunning debut album in 2019, reminiscent of a sci-fi soundtrack. The gem entitled ‘We Are Just Floating in Space’ blasted off a full European tour, supporting international psychedelic rock acts such as Föllakzoid, Camera, Acid Mothers Temple and Minami Deutsch. The duet caught the ear of les Trans Musicales festival in Rennes, France, who booked them to perform five nights in a row in December of the same year. 2020 should have continued in the same vein, with the band’s name on Dutch festival Roadburn’s lineup, but the COVID crisis decided otherwise. However, ALBER JUPITER took advantage of this forced break to compose and record a second album which sees them pursuing their psychedelic exploration. A looper, a few pedals and the journey becomes limitless! The bass morphs into guitars, trippy violins, screams, ethereal or distorted layers. The synths are also part of the adventure, completing the already rich sonic spectrum and propelling the band into new territories.
ALBER JUPITER’s new album ‘Puis Vient La Nuit’ is set to be released in April 5th 2024 on Foudrage with the help of Araki Records and Up In Her Room (UK). The band will play Roadburn Festival in Tilburg (Netherlands) mid-April, Desertfest London (UK) and PostInParis (France) in May 2024.
