De uitslag van de poll is bekend! In december hebben we gevraagd welke Left of the Dial-band jullie graag op de volgende editie van het festival terug zouden willen zien en jullie hebben massaal gestemd. Jullie liefde was groot en gevarieerd; elke band die ooit bij ons heeft gespeeld, kreeg stemmen. De top 5 zat zelfs zo dichtbij elkaar dat het onmogelijk was om één duidelijke winnaar aan te wijzen. Die gaan dus allemaal terugkomen!
Nu hadden wij gehoopt vandaag al die namen bekend te kunnen maken, maar we waren even vergeten dat de wereld niet helemáál om ons draait. Bands maken ook plannen, moeten tourschema’s rondkrijgen en hebben ook nog andere shows om rekening mee te houden. Zo hebben twee bands uit de top 5 bijvoorbeeld binnenkort eerst een eigen show in Rotterdam waar ze natuurlijk ook graag kaartjes voor willen verkopen. Deze namen maken we dus bekend zodra die twee shows zijn geweest. Of wanneer ze zijn uitverkocht, als dat al eerder is. Een andere band houdt van een beetje mysterie en wil hun optreden geheim houden tot ze in oktober op het podium staan. Dat vonden we eigenlijk een prima idee, dus straks zal er in het blokkenschema één vraagteken staan. Weer een andere band wil graag hun hele tour in één keer aankondigen en die was vandaag toch nog niet rond. Daar wachten we dus nog even op.
Dan blijft er één band over die terug zal keren naar Left of the Dial en er wel al helemaal klaar is om dat vandaag te delen met de hele wereld: LIFE
De indrukwekkende show die de band recentelijk in Rotown gaf, smaakte kennelijk naar meer, want talloze poll-stemmers vulden tot onze grote vreugde LIFE in. Wij zijn ongelooflijk trots dat we ze in oktober weer in Rotterdam mogen ontvangen!
Geniet dit weekend van nog even van de EP die LIFE vorige maand uitbracht, maandag zijn we terug met gloednieuwe namen!
The poll results are in! Past December we asked which Left of the Dial band you’d like to see return to the next edition of the festival and you voted en masse. Your love was widespread; every band that ever played with us received votes. In fact, the top 5 was too close to call, so those bands will all return!
We’d hoped to announce all those names today, but we kind of forgot that the world doesn’t revolve around us entirely. Bands also make plans, schedule tours and have other shows to consider as well. For example, two top 5 bands will have their own shows in Rotterdam shortly and of course they’d like to sell tickets for these too. So we will announce them once they’ve played their shows. Or when all tickets are gone, whichever comes sooner. Another band likes a bit of mystery and wants to keep their performance a secret until they hit the stage in October. That seemed like a pretty cool idea to us, so expect one big question mark in the timetable in October. Yet another band wanted to announce their tour dates all at once and still had some confirmations to go, so we’ll wait until they’re good and ready.
That leaves us with one band that will return to Left of the Dial and is ready to share it with the whole world today: LIFE
Their recent impressive show in Rotown apparently left everybody wanting more as, to our great delight, countless poll voters chose LIFE. We are incredibly proud to welcome them back to Rotterdam this October!
